The climate crisis is top of mind for many these days, so here’s a story about Maureauto Colombia (AVIS), a car rental company in Bogotá, Colombia that is reducing its environmental impact.

In 2015, Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) awarded Maureauto Colombia a sustainability innovation grant. The grant has allowed the company to install Trabold oil filters in their fleet of cars. The filters eliminate the need for oil changes, thereby reducing the amount of engine oil the vehicles use.

“Every time I install a new filter, it has a strong psychological impact on me,” says Wilson Montenegro, the Maureauto Colombia employee featured in the video. “I think: Installing this filter may give my son one more year of life because I am helping the environment.”
