CMU Farmers Market TODAY

The CMU Farmers Market is TODAY folks! We've got 28 vendors lined up, a toonie lunch (farmer sausage on a bun) to offer, and a forecast of sunshiney goodness.

Also, I'll be a vendor there this year!

Something special about this year:
1) Busking Corner - We're introducing a busking corner this year, open to students and non-students alike. Its free to reserve a slot, and musiciansare welcome to put out a hat or boot, as well as sell their CD's.

2) Kingdom Centered Business Model --- We've been thinking really hard about how to make the festival an event that is dedicated to God. We've decided to create a business model where we try and reflect some kingdom principles - we've started with tithing. This means that every tenth table we have we are giving away to a worthy cause or project.

What does that look like? Well, for an example, one of the table we have given away will be giving all of their proceeds to Kernels of Hope, a Canadian farming project that raises money for farming communities in the Congo, a country dealing with some extreme food security issues due to war. Holy Community Covenant Church, a church plant in the West End of Winnipeg, will be donating talents in artistic wares, produce and time to raise money in support of this project. Come see their table at the market!

See http://www.covchurch.ca/kernels-of-hope/ for more information on being a virtual farmer with Kernels of Hope.

Come stop by and visit with me at my table, 10-4 at Canadian Mennonite Univesity on North Campus!
