The other day my housemates and I had an interesting conversation. We asked ourselves: if we are dreamers and made in the image of God, what is God’s dream?
This is what we realized: God’s dream is that He wants to redeem and reconcile the WORLD!
This is God’s dream, and that means every inch of our world is being worked on. Not only that, making God’s dream a reality is already possible because Jesus’ death made it possible. That means every small or large thing that is in the process of being redeemed and reconciled is participating in God’s dream. Small or large, it’s part of his EPIC dream, made possible by Christ. It’s already becoming a reality.
I think that more that we can participate in this redemption the better able we the church will be to live out the purpose God has made for. I’ve been attempting to challenged myself to adopt God’s dream as a new perspective to any conflict I encounter. If I can understand that conflict is an opportunity to reconcile or redeem a broken pattern or relationship, it means I can participate in God’s hope for humankind. If I can learn to dream like God dreams, it means that redemption and reconciliation become a part of my reality. I want that reality.
I’d love to hear what this makes you think about. How do you see God’s dream participating in your life?
