Hey folks! For anyone looking for a new place to try, I have to recommend  L’Arche Tova Cafe in Winnipeg. This lovely cafe, aside from serving tasty food, is a cafe committed to helping employ the developmentally disabled. I experienced this lovely little place for the first time a few weeks ago, and will most certainly be going back.

Upon entering the cafe I was greeted by a L’Arche member who met me with a smile, a hug, and help to hang up my jacket. Service was friendly and the food was great. I do have to rave about the tasty treats that were had for dessert too -- that homemade baking alone is worth the trip. Aside from that, there is also wifi available for those who are inclined to be study bugs this time of year.

If you have the time, please go support this cafe. Its purpose and accomplishment are beautiful. It’s pursuit of community and inclusion are encouraging and inspiring. I leave you with a quote from Jean Vanier,   the founder of the L’Arche communities (located world wide). He  said in his book Community and  Growth:

“Love doesn't mean doing extraordinary or heroic things. It means knowing how to do ordinary things with tenderness.”

I think Cafe Tova embraces this excellently. Go, and tell me if you think so too.
