Watch: Three songs to bring you solace

Efforts to produce online worship resources have resulted in three new videos featuring music written and performed by musicians from Mennonite Church Canada.

“PSALM 46” by JESSICA & MOSES FALCO

Jessica and Moses Falco from Sterling Mennonite Fellowship (Winnipeg) filmed their original song, “Psalm 46,” on March 19 when they were at Douglas Mennonite Church, recording MC Canada’s March 22 worship service.

“Psalm 46 has always been a scripture passage that’s been close to the heart, especially when going through difficult times,” the duo write in the video’s description. “We wrote this song in 2019 based on the psalm… We hope you enjoy and that it brings you hope wherever you are.”

“WAIT ON YOU ALONE” by PHIL CAMPBELL-ENNS

Phil Campbell-Enns, pastor at Home Street Mennonite Church (Winnipeg), wrote “Wait on You alone” on March 18 and recorded it in his workshop a few days later.

In the song, Campbell-Enns draws from Psalm 62 as he sings, “Be our Rock and our Salvation / We will wait and not be shaken / When our world feels uncertain / We will find our strength in You.”

“YOU’RE NOT ALONE” by DARRYL NEUSTAEDTER BARG & GROUP

Written by Kitchener, Ont.-based singer-songwriter Bryan Moyer Suderman, “You’re Not Alone” is one of the songs that will be included in the forthcoming Voices Together hymnal.

This rendition, featuring musicians Darryl Neustaedter Barg, Phil Campbell-Enns, Moses Falco, Jessica Falco and Rose Klassen, was recorded for MC Canada’s March 22 worship service.
