MSCU members vote in favour of name change

Kitchener, Ont.—Mennonite Savings and Credit Union (MSCU) will be changing its name to Kindred Credit Union after the change was approved at a special general meeting of members on Feb. 29, 2016. The launch of the new Kindred Credit Union brand will begin in June 2016, with a phased rollout expected to be completed by the end of the year. “This decision by our members will allow us to sustain a vibrant credit union for generations to come,” said chief executive officer Brent Zorgdrager. “Kindred Credit Union is a name that is relevant to our current members and market research has indicated it is also attractive and welcoming to potential members.” The positive vote for the new name, Kindred Credit Union, is the culmination of a year-long collaborative process involving the credit union’s board, senior leadership, staff and members. With this new name, the credit union hopes to appeal to a broader audience, grow its community impact, and fulfill its purpose of offering cooperative banking that connects values and faith with finances, inspiring peaceful, just, and prosperous communities. —Mennonite Savings and Credit Union
