Mennonite peacebuilding conference invites proposals

September 2, 2015

Organizers of a global Mennonite peacebuilding conference and festival are calling for proposals for papers, panels, workshops and artistic creations. To be held June 9-12, 2016, on the Conrad Grebel University College campus, Waterloo, Ont., this conference and festival will bring together people from around the world to dialogue and reflect on Mennonite peacebuilding accomplishments, failures, challenges, and opportunities in varied international settings, past and present. Academics, artists, peace practitioners, church workers, students, and activists are invited to submit proposals. “We also want to create spaces for artistic expression,” says Professor Marlene Epp, co-chair of the Grebel organizing committee. “Literature, music, drama, and visual art all make powerful statements about peace.” The submission deadline is Oct. 1, 2015, and details are available in four languages on the event website. –Conrad Grebel University College
