MCC Festival for World Relief alters plans

September 2, 2021

ABBOTSFORD, B.C.—Mennonite Central Committee B.C. has announced changes to its MCC Festival for World Relief. After an absence last year due to the pandemic, the festival was to take place at its usual location of Tradex in Abbotsford, Sept. 17-18. The venue and dates have now changed. “As excited as we were to welcome you back, we have had to make the hard decision to move the event from the Tradex to the MCC Centre parking lot,” according to a press release from MCC B.C. “Tradex has become an Emergency Evacuation Centre for evacuees for the many that have been forced to evacuate over the last number of weeks because of the wildfires in B.C.” MCC invites the public to the now one-day festival on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the MCC Centre Parking Lot (33933 Gladys Ave. in Abbotsford). The event will feature food, shopping and opportunities to learn more about MCC’s work. Registration isn’t necessary, but is encouraged. Visit mccfestival.com for details.
