We give thanks that the New Hamburg Mennonite Relief Sale in Ontario was able to raise more than $120,000 at the end of May. Because of pandemic restrictions, it was a virtual event for the second year in a row. We give thanks for the hundreds of online bidders at two separate auctions. A handmade quilt by Helmuth Renske depicting common wildflowers and called “Springtime in Ontario” sold for $8,300. The top selling non-quilt item was a restored antique Allis-Chalmers D14 tractor. We give thanks for the many donations and creative projects that raised money for Mennonite Central Committee. |
